In November, during this (controversial) race season, what other hero could you have than a horse? Our Hero this month is 31-year-old Subzero, winner of the 1992 Melbourne Cup. Subbie and owner Graham Salisbury have an unbreakable bond. After Subbie’s retirement he became Graham’s Clerk of the Course horse, and after his retirement from that job, he has spent the past twenty years as a spokeshorse for racehorses, as well as spreading cheer at nursing homes, hospitals and schools.
Drum roll please! HorseVibes is thrilled to announce the winner of the inaugural HorseVibes Delivering Dreams Scholarship 18-year-old trick rider Billie Morgan. Billie hails from Bundaberg and is all set to create waves on the trick riding circuit with help from our Scholarship.
Speaking of trick riders those fearless riders on their flying machines we speak to two who have made it to the top of the profession, Becky Klingenberg from the Northern Territory, and Hollie Shiels who has her own troupe, HLS Trick Riding.
So much to read, so little time! Delve into Training Tips with the stars of the Show Circuit, Jess and Rhys Stones; Charlie Brister tells us why an independent seat is of the buttmost importance; Epona, our very own horse astrologer gives us the low-down for November; our breed is the amiable and energetic Irish Sport Horse and there’s more, much more.
