 Riding Clubs

Gisborne township is situated approximately 60km north of Melbourne along the Calder Highway in the Macedon Ranges District.

Gisborne & District Adult Riding Club Inc. is a registered not-for-profit organisation and is an affiliated member of the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria Inc. (HRCAV). Our Club has a strong Membership base of 70 Members, it was originally called the Couangalt Riding Club which was formed in 1991. We aim to accommodate horse riders of all levels wishing to improve their riding skills and are looking to enjoy themselves in a friendly, supportive and inclusive atmosphere. We welcome all levels, breeds, steeds and genders.

Our Club has Members who take part in several disciplines, Dressage, Combined Training, Horse Trials, Endurance, HRCAV Top Teams events, Show Jumping and Navigation Rides.

We host two sometime three Competitions annually, Combined Training and the Gisborne leg of the Macedon Ranges And District (MAD) dressage series also Show Jumping if time allows.

Our rallies are held on the second Saturday of the month at the IR Robertson Reserve, Couangalt Road, Gisborne South.  The grounds are well equipped with two large sand arenas, a cross country course (consisting of a number of fences for Levels 2,3,4 and 5), shedding and yards.  Our Club Uniform colours are a very appealing navy blue, pale blue and white.

We are currently fundraising to build new Club Rooms which were condemned by the local Council due to a termite infestation.
